"The participants in a conference dedicated to rocket, missile and small-arms matters and held in the Amur Region [in Russia’s Far East] discussed ways to make the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles more effective and the establishment of relevant anti-UAV units," Gordeyev said.

The participants in the conference also worked out the scenario of a large-scale tactical exercise that would involve district air defense units and take place at a training range in Buryatiya in East Siberia.

They also discussed the organization of combat alert and interaction among Air Force and Army Air Defense units and the air defense formations of the Pacific Fleet’s coastal defense forces.

The participants in the conference summed up the results of the maneuvers of Eastern Military District air defense units and tactical missile live-firing exercises.

Today UAVs are used by all the military forces to collect information and to perform reconnaissance. but the most important threat ist the unmanned vehicles for civilian purposes which a has a weight of less than 7 kg. This drones can be used to fly over military areas or airport without being detected.

Some terrorists has also used drones to perform combat missions and to carried explosive devices. The growing use of UAVs by civilians and military opponents, presents a number of security threats.

They could crash in crowded areas, collide with civilian aircraft or be used to launch malicious attacks against critical national infrastructures. Civilian-operated UAVs have already demonstrated their potentially damaging potential. For example, in October 2014, a small UAV flew over a nuclear plant in France, and in January last year, a UAV landed in the garden of the White House in Washington.
