ECA Group, CEFA and Scopex to jointly offer EOD and C-IED mine clearance solutions
Today at Eurosatory 2016, CEFA, ECA Group and SCOPEX announced their partnership in a joint offer: EOD & C-IED mine clearance solutions. Faced with the danger of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), which has become a permanent threat during external operations, the military needs a set of specialized equipment to protect their personnel while detecting, identifying and addressing threats.

In order to achieve the required level of effectiveness, this equipment must be available, in perfect working order, and delivered on the ground, as close as possible to the operations..

To meet these requirements, CEFA, ECA and SCOPEX have grouped together to offer an integrated solution created with the most effective materials and systems to deal with IEDs. All of these systems are stored in a deployable shelter, meaning the EOD (Explosive Ordonance Disposal) & C-IED (Counter Improvised Explosive Device) equipment can be transported directly by road, rail and air to the military zones of operation, thereby providing an independent response to mine clearance and assessment missions, from operational searches to the detection, identification and neutralization of IEDs.

The equipment includes protective clothing and accessories for the EOD teams, devices to detect and identify threats with ground penetrating radars, wire detectors, X-ray systems and equipment to deal with and neutralize the threats using IGUANA type remote-controlled ground robots (UGVs), enabling the task force to keep a distance from the IED risks.

This offer by CEFA, ECA and SCOPEX provides a unique integrated solution to meet the demands of task forces in terms of the initial supply of such equipment, together with maintaining the equipment in working order by relying on the grouping's maintenance centers and teams. This unique offer for EOD & C-IED mine clearance solutions will be presented during the Eurosatory trade fair at the CEFA (J830) and ECA (K760) stands.
