The Orlan-30 system comprises a multifunctional setup that includes four containers housing two UAVs, a launching device (catapult) with launching equipment, spare parts, accessories, and a ground remote control station (GRCS). The GRCS features up to two operator automated workstations, radio channel equipment with antenna-feeder devices, and equipment for UAVs' maintenance and launching. An autonomous power supply source ensures its operation is uninterrupted, and a communication set facilitates information-sharing among system operators and with other users. Moreover, the system can work via the Internet using protected connections, enhancing its operational flexibility.

The UAV itself is engineered for efficiency and performance. With a wingspan of 3.9 meters, it can achieve a maximum flight duration of 8 hours, a maximum flight above sea level of 4km, and an airspeed of 90-150 km/h. Its takeoff weight is 40 kg, with a maximum payload of 6 kg, capable of operating in wind speeds ranging from 10-20 m/s. The launching mechanism for the Orlan-30 is a catapult, and it features a landing parachute for recovery.

The operational capabilities of the Orlan-30 are extensive. It can perform tasks such as ground objects monitoring through optical, radio, and infrared reconnaissance, evaluation of operation results, long-term air patrol of designated areas, monitoring of landing sites and tracks to detect illegal units or terrorist groups, topographic reconnaissance, search for aircrews in distress, and providing information support to border guards and sea routes control. Its operational temperature range from -30°C to +40°C enables the UAV to function in diverse environmental conditions.

The Orlan-30's optoelectronic payload includes an overview video camera of the visible spectrum with a viewing angle of 2° to 60° and optical zoom, a thermal imager, and a sighting video camera, both offering high-resolution imaging capabilities for precise reconnaissance and monitoring. Additionally, it is equipped with a laser rangefinder-designator, which aids in target designation and range finding with high accuracy.

Presenting this cutting-edge UAV system at WDS 2024 in Saudi Arabia underscores the commitment to advancing defense technologies that offer strategic advantages in surveillance, reconnaissance, and monitoring. The Orlan-30 UAV system represents a significant leap forward in unmanned aerial capabilities, providing military and security forces with a highly adaptable, efficient, and reliable tool for modern warfare and security operations.
