Mildef to supply Malaysian Army with Light Forward Repair Vehicles.

Defense Studies reports that Malaysian defense company Mildef International Technologies has won a contract to supply Light Forward Repair Vehicles to the Malaysian Army. The vehicles have been developed in-house by Mildef at its R&D center in Sepang, Malaysia, based on the Toyota Hilux platform.

The Light Forward Repair Vehicle, which is set to be deployed with units of the Malaysian Army Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, is an innovative and versatile addition to their fleet. This specialized vehicle is based on the proven and reliable platform of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck, which ensures robustness and reliability in demanding military environments.

The Light Forward Repair Vehicle is designed to provide comprehensive repair and maintenance capabilities in the field, enabling the efficient servicing and recovery of various military assets. It features a reinforced Toyota Hilux flatbed that can withstand rugged terrains and adverse conditions, ensuring that the vehicle remains operational even in challenging situations.

This versatile repair vehicle is equipped with an array of essential tools and machinery, making it a self-contained workshop on wheels. The onboard crane provides lifting capabilities, enabling the handling of heavy equipment and components during repairs and installations. A powerful generator ensures a reliable and continuous power supply, crucial for operating electronic diagnostic tools and electrically powered equipment.

Additionally, the Light Forward Repair Vehicle is fitted with an air compressor, essential for maintaining optimal tire pressure and powering pneumatic tools. The presence of a welding machine allows for on-site fabrication and repair of metal components, reducing the need for external support.
