Launched in 2021 for naval use and expanded to land applications in 2022, Quadome provides rapid and accurate capabilities to naval, military, and security forces.

Quadome excels in multi-mission surveillance and target acquisition. It operates in dual mode and uses an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) to quickly and accurately detect and track targets of various speeds and sizes. Its design reduces operator workload, thereby increasing efficiency. The software-defined radar adapts to evolving threats and incorporates predictive maintenance, which aligns repairs with port visits to extend its lifespan.

With two main modes, general surveillance and air defense for threat engagement, Quadome optimizes performance while managing costs throughout its lifecycle.

Quadome targets the global market for tactical naval and ground-based air defense radars. Its design is ideally suited for small maritime vessels such as offshore patrol vessels (OPVs), corvettes, and light frigates, due to its compact shape and superior cost-performance ratio.

The radar meets the stringent requirements of modern air defense with its ability to track fast-moving targets at various altitudes with high accuracy. Operating in the C-Band, it offers an optimal balance between performance and mobility as a standalone air defense sensor.

Owners benefit from lower overall costs and minimal operational effort. The system's simplicity reduces training needs and allows for a hands-off operational approach. Its modern, flexible support structure and the ability to integrate new features ensure longevity and adaptability to future threats.

Quadome enhances Hensoldt's extensive radar lineup, which has sold over 100 units in 25 years. It reflects the company's broad expertise and historical success in radar technology, with a strong presence in Germany, the UK, and South Africa.

HENSOLDT South Africa has played a pivotal role since 2019, using local intellectual property for Quadome's development, free from third-party export restrictions. This facility represents the largest Hensoldt base outside Europe and underscores its leadership in the African defense and security market.
