Oman presents NIMER 4x4 indigenous armoured vehicle at BIDEC 2017


Engine Engineering Company from the Sultanate of Oman has developed a full range of 4x4 armoured under the name of NIMER (Tiger in English) that includes three variants, the NIMER I, the NIMER II and the NIMER III.

The latest generation of NIMR vehicle is based on a KIA Motors jeep chassis has been designed especially to be used by military, internal security and police forces. The layout of the vehicle is standard with engine at the front, crew in the middle and troops compartment at the rear.

The NIMR III has two large windows at the front of the crew compartment and one single door on each side. There three small bulletproof windows with individual firing port on each side of the troops compartment.

The roof of the vehicle can be fitted with open top turret or remote weapon station which can be armed with light machine gun 7.62mm caliber.

The NIMR III offers high performances in terms of mobility and protection. It provides protection against firing of small arms 7.62mm AP.

The NIMR III has already been tested in hostile terrain and summer temperature of the Sultanate of Oman.
