As Kalashnikov Group Deputy CEO for Special Projects Denis Fisenko said, the PPK-20 has passed trials: "The weapon has successfully passed trials. It is adapted to the personal survival kit and can be used in the cockpit," Fisenko said.

According to the Kalashnikov Group’s press office, the Defense Ministry’s State Flight Test Center in Akhtubinsk held the trials of the PPK-20 submachine gun, which confirmed that it could be placed in an ejection seat.

"Trials continue to assess the effectiveness of the changes made. If their results are positive, the Kalashnikov Group is ready to launch the production of PPK-20 submachine guns that have considerable export potential," the press office said.

PPK-20 is based on the mass-produced submachine gun "Vityaz-SN". PPK-20 is equipped with a detachable suppressor, adjustable and folding polymer buttstock, ergonomic pistol grip and enhanced selector lever. PPK-20 is chambered for 9x19 mm round. The main type of ammunition for this submachinegun is 7N21 steel core armor-piercing rounds, but it can also be used with standard 9x19 ammo. The PPK-20 has a length of 41 cm with its folded buttstock. 7N21 rounds pierce a Level 3A armor vest (NIJ standard). The muzzle velocity is about 470 m/s and the point-blank range against a full-height target is 360 meters.
