The Iranian-made Pirooz seems similar to the Russian-made Kornet-D, an anti-tank guided missile carrier vehicle which is now in service with the Russian army.

The Pirooz consists of four missile launchers fitted on a remotely operated weapon station that can be lowered inside the vehicle in road position. The Pirooz can fire the "Dehlavieh" missile which is a copy of the Russian-made Kornet 9M113 ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile).

In the middle of the turret is mounted an automatic electro-optical tracking system including laser range finder and observation systems. The Pirooz is able to destroy any types of land targets at a maximum range of 5,000 m, but it can also be used against air targets with a maximum range of 1,800 m.

The Pirooz vehicle has a crew of two and all the firing operations can be performed from inside the vehicle. The weapon platform can be easily integrated to many types of tactical and armoured vehicles. The weapon system can be quickly erected on the roof of the vehicle to engage land and air targets featuring automatic tracking capability.
