BAE Systems manufactures the rounds at its factory in Wales. Their production has been stopped until the end of the investigation. The British MoD and the company are working together to address the issue the soonest possible. The issue is of high importance as the rounds are used from UK’s rapid reaction forces, namely the Para and Royal Marines Artillery Regiments.

According to the company’s statement “BAE Systems has worked closely with the MoD to rapidly develop an Indicating High Explosive round (designated L55) to permit some elements of training to continue.”
