State Defense Company Delta of Georgia unveils new GMM-120 6x6 self-propelled mortar carrier.
During the Independence Day of Georgia, May 26, 2016, the State Military Scientific-Technical Center Delta has unveiled a new prototyoe of 120mm wheeled self-propelled mortar carrier under the name of GMM-120.
     
During the Independence Day of Georgia, May 26, 2016, the State Military Scientific-Technical Center Delta has unveiled a new prototyoe of 120mm wheeled self-propelled mortar carrier under the name of GMM-120. The new Georgian-made GMM-120 120mm 6x6 self-propelled mortar carrier developed and designed by the State Defense Company Delta.
     

The prototype of GMM-120 is fully developed and designed by the State Defense Company Delta which is engaged in Defense Industry and provides technical support for Georgian Armed Forces concerning ammunition, military vehicles, specialized buildings and fortifications, implementation/application of new weapon systems and their subsequent support, humanitarian demining and demilitarization works.

The GMM-120 is based on a German-made MAN 6x6 commercial truck chassis which is fitted with armour protection including the crew cabin. The crew which consists of 6 people is located at the front of the vehicle and the rear part of the hull is fitted with a 120mm mortar mounted on a turntable.

The GMM-120 is equipped with a modern digital fire control and navigation systems. The rate of fire for the mortar system is 15 rounds per minute with a firing range from 480 m to 7,100 m. The vehicle can carried a total of 50 of mortar ammunition.

In road position, the 120mm mortar is stored inside the vehicle. In less than few minutes, the GMM-120 can be ready to fire, and the 120mm can fire through two large hatches in the roof.

For it's self-protection, the GMM-120 is armed with a 12.7mm machine gun mounted at the front of the roof crew cabin.
