Israeli-made Plasan Sandcat 4x4 armoured vehicle now in service with Azerbaijan armed forces.
Azerbaijan has recently acquired 4x4 armoured vehicles Sandcat designed and manufactured by the Israeli Company Plasan. The vehicles was showcased for the first time during a ceremony, June 25, 2016 attended by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Photos released on Internet show four different versions of the Sandact vehicle presented during the ceremony to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

The variants include an APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) version, a reconnaissance vehicle fitted with a telescopic mast equipped with remote controlled and surveillance electric optic system, a combat vehicle fitted with a Mini Samson remote weapon stations (RWS) armed with one 12.7 mm NSVT machine gun, and one anti-tank version fitted with Samson turret armed with two Spike-LR anti-tank-guided missiles.

The Sand Cat is a 4x4 light armored vehicle designed by Plasan of Israel. The Sand Cat is a compact, highly manoeuvrable platform capable of carrying up to eight fully equipped soldiers. The SandCat vehicle has been optimized for travelling in dense urban terrain as well as over rough, unpaved roads.

The Sand Cat is customized for both military and homeland security purposes, such as SWAT missions and counter-insurgency activity. It is based on an upgraded commercial of-the-shelf Ford F-Series 4x4 chassis, adapted by Oshkosh Corporation for military use and fitted with Plasan-designed and manufactured modular armour made of advanced Metal Composite & Ceramics Composite Kitted Hull structure.
