The Minister of National Defense, Arvydas Anušauskas, expressed his satisfaction with this modernization, highlighting the importance of these vehicles for military operations in peacetime and for logistical operations. These rugged and versatile vehicles are essential to meet the various needs of the army, particularly for transporting troops and equipment in diverse environments.

Delivered on November 28, these vehicles are part of a contract signed at the end of November last year, representing a significant investment of nearly 32 million euros. Veho Lietuva, the Mercedes-Benz distribution center, is responsible for supplying these all-terrain vehicles.

The Mercedes-Benz G 350 d is a strategic choice for the army, offering a blend of performance, reliability, and versatility. Designed with a closed five-door body and four seats, this vehicle also provides space in the rear for additional equipment and personal effects. With a total permitted weight of 3.5 tons, the G 350 has a significant payload of 1 ton, of which 200 kilograms can be carried on the roof.

Furthermore, the vehicle's capacity to tow up to 3.5 tons adds to its versatility in the field. Performance is also a strong point, with a maximum speed of 199 km/h, making it an ideal choice for missions requiring speed and agility.

The delivery of these Mercedes-Benz G 350 d vehicles will continue throughout 2023-2024. They will be deployed in almost all military units of the Lithuanian army, fulfilling various roles, from peacetime missions to logistical operations and other tasks.

This initiative reflects Lithuania's ongoing commitment to modernize its armed forces and strengthen its defense capability, a key element in the current regional security context.
