As drones are widely used in the conflict in Ukraine, with both sides entrenching themselves further each day using trenches, a new idea emerges that could well interest Ukrainians. Indeed, Throwflame, a US company, has unveiled a new product in its range—the Thermonator. Under this name hides, in reality, a flamethrower UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle).

The Thermonator is a product that leaves a mark and represents a breakthrough in the field of robotic technologies combined with practical applications. Sold for $9,420, this quadruped robot dog is the first of its kind equipped with an ARC flamethrower, designed to deliver fire on demand wherever you are.

With a one-hour battery life and capable of projecting flames up to 30 feet (approximately 9 meters), the Thermonator is remotely controllable via WiFi and Bluetooth, making it extremely flexible and easy to operate in various environments.

This robot can be used for a multitude of tasks such as wildfire management and prevention, agricultural management, ecological conservation, snow and ice removal, as well as for special effects in entertainment. However, its use today is envisioned for armed conflict scenarios such as those in Ukraine, where its use to attack a trench can be easily imagined.

Its design integrates advanced technologies such as Lidar mapping, FPV (first-person view) navigation, instant ARC ignition, and a laser sighting system. These features not only increase its accuracy and efficiency but also ensure safe operation even in challenging conditions.

Thus, the Thermonator is much more than a simple gadget; it is a firepower companion, designed to offer operational flexibility and increased longevity thanks to its versatile mounting system. The company also specified that its walking flamethrower can generate a flame for 45 minutes non-stop, which is more than sufficient for short but intense missions.

Throwflame is making an important impact with its new product, which is already creating a buzz on social networks and the internet more broadly. There is no doubt that many will be interested in this new addition to the UGV range. Although Throwflame has not explicitly spoken of combat capabilities, many people are already imagining a more military use. It remains to be seen if Throwflame will take this step; nevertheless, this presentation is nothing less than spectacular.
