The DHY 208 weighs 2 kilos and has a range of 3 to 4 kilometers, compared to an earlier model weighing 8 kilos with a 10 kilometer range.. It can integrate a digital magnetic compass and be interfaced with the rugged computing devices used by Special Forces.

The Cilas DHY 208 is one the of the lighter and smaller laser target marker available on the military market, especially designed to mark up targets for aircraft.

In December 2017, Cilas won a contract with the French Army to supply 160 units of its new DHY 208, with options up to 200.

The CILAS’ GLTD have been successfully operated by major defense forces, NATO and non-NATO, the French Forces and others worldwide.
