The Tigr is a 4x4 armored vehicles designed and manufactured by the Arzamas Machine-Building Enterprise (part of VPK) in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region since 2005. Tigr GAZ-2975 is the police version in the Tigr family.

"I can say that the Tigr police vehicles were delivered to Slovakia," Krasovitsky said. A batch of these multipurpose infantry mobility vehicles was also supplied this year to the structures of Russia’s Interior Ministry, he added.

The other customers do not want to be named, Krasovitsky said.

"There are some tools thanks to which we send our vehicles to other countries, and they use them under their brands installing various armament on the Tigr vehicles," he said.

The GAZ-2330 "Tigr" is the military version of the Tigr family and has been referred to as "the Russian Humvee". The first production of GAZ-2330 “Tigr” started in 2004.

The Tigr GAZ-2330 can be armed with light machine gun or grenade launcher. Hatches and brackets for installation of 7.62mm Pecheneg machinegun and 30mm AGS-17 grenade launchers are mounted on the vehicle’s roof.

The TIGR’s armored hull provides protection against small-arms fire, shell fragments and IED blasts. The hull and door windows are bulletproof and the vehicle’s spall liners protect personnel against spalls if the hull is hit by bullets or fragments and exclude ricochet from the opposite side if the hull is pierced.
