Kalashnikov Concern unveils new Soratnik armed UGV at Army 2016
As the Army-2016 international military expo, held in Moscow region until Sept. 11, opened its doors, the Kalashnikov Concern presents one of its latest creations to the public: the Soratnik unmanned combat vehicle. In conjunction with unmanned aerial vehicles, the new UGV will be able to carry out reconnaissance and provide fire support to troops.

"Under the Kalashnikov brand for the first time we will show some developments in the field of robotics. This trend has added to the product portfolio of the group this year, and now we are actively developing", recently declared the General Director of the concern Alexey Krivoruchk.

Soratnik is a tracked armored vehicle fitted with a computerized control system, as well as detection and surveillance equipment.

The Soratnik is intended for fire support, intelligence, security, patrol, mine clearance and obstacle clearing operations. The vehicle was created on the instructions from the Defense Ministry.

It includes a remotely operated turret with guidance mechanisms, shooting, and aiming, as well as remote control.Furthermore, the vehicle can operate in conjunction with other unmanned vehicles, including UAVs.
