BTR-3M2 is advanced modification of Ukrainian BTR-3E1 Armored Personnel Carrier, which is one of the most exported vehicles within the range of Ukrainian armored vehicles. Roman Romanov reported that supply of BTR-3M2 for the public testing is one of the stages of the implementation of the Ukrainian President’s assignments to provide Armed Forces of Ukraine and National Guard with new weaponry samples, which will strengthen significantly power authorities in the nearest future.

Ukrainian servicemen have become interested in this combat vehicle long ago. The thing is that we don’t have such systems in our service at all. The installation of a mortar on the APC’s platform significantly enhances its efficiency and combat capabilities of artillery units, which operate within the land forces and also separately as a mobile attack group.

Herewith, BTR-3M2 as a basic its version BTR-3E1 is amphibious vehicle. Floating speed is up to 10 km/hour. This vehicle in comparison with its basis has higher troops department, and there is a capability to install air cooling system under the difficult climatic conditions

Armed Forces of Ukraine has already passed the training on how to operate BTR-3M (with a mortar) in the framework of one of the export contracts. Foreign customers were supplied with APC in the version that was designed for 81mm mortar to be installed on. It was the first version of mortar modification of APCs, developed by armorers of Kiev Armored Vehicle. For the needs of Ukrainian Army and National Guard units the APCs are produced in a serial and supplied in a BTR-3M2 model with the possibility to install powerful 120mm mortar.
