A hybrid gasoline-electric powered heavy load transporter is being tested in China by CASIC in view of serial production vehicles designed to carry new Chinese solid-fuelled, road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles. So far, no additional tecgnical information is available. China is widely known to be a leading country in the field of electric vehicles, hence an easily understandable research project on hybrid motorization for a « glutton » type of military vehicle. However, as the fuel used is labelled "gasoline" and not "diesel", there is something intriguing It would be interesting to know what parameters have been defined to justify the military interest in a hybrid vehicle as missile carrier.
