The autonomous Humvee is equipped with a camera that transmits a video feed to the operator, who receives the informatio at a distance of up to three kilometers. This range is expected to be extended in the future.

That type of vehicle can be used to to deliver supplies of ammunition, fuel and medical equipment, as well as food and water to forces in the field.

Since a few year, many military forces work to develop autonomous vehicle able to operate without direct human supervision and are a step up from unmanned vehicles, which are typically controlled remotely.

Today, semi-autonomous systems are used to clear mines, provide surveillance, convoy supplies and acquire targets, among many other things.

The American Company Oshkosh Defense has developed the TERRAMAX unmanned ground vehicle technology integrates high-power military computers, intelligence, drive-by-wire technology and state-of-the-art distributed sensing systems to make unmanned ground vehicles run with no driver and limited supervision.
