Algeria has developed NIMR II Special Forces Operations 4x4 vehicle


According to pictures released on the Twitter account of CAESAR (@Ninja998998), Algeria has developed a local version of the NIMR Special Operations variant. The vehicle seems very similar to the Ajban SOV (Special Operations Vehicle) designed and developed by the UAE-based company NIMR.

In July 2012 it was disclosed that Algeria and the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement to jointly produce NIMR armored vehicles in Algeria. Under the CKD, these agreement between the Algerian Ministry of Defence's Mechanical Industry Promotion Group and Tawazun Holdings of the UAE, the NIMR-Algerie Joint Stock Company was established to produce 4x4 armored station wagon variants.

The Ajban SOV (Special Operations Vehicle) uses open-top architecture based on the Ajban military multirole vehicle. The vehicle is specially designed to perform long-range reconnaissance missions for Special Forces units. The Ajban SOV was unveiled during the edition 2015 of IDEX, the International Defence Exhibition which takes place every two years in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The NlMR AJBAN Special Operations Vehicle (SOV) was designed and developed by the UAE-based company NIMR. It is an open-top 4x4 long-range reconnaissance vehicle for Special Forces based on the Ajban class family of armored vehicles. The AJBAN SOV has seats for 4 crew members with two seats at the front and two at the rear and an optional 5th seat in the middle, providing all-around situational awareness and self-defense from a high mounted gun ring and gun mounts at all crew positions.

The Ajban Class SOV (Special Operations Vehicle) is fitted a ring mount weapon station mounted in the center of the vehicle which can be armed with a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun.

The Ajban Class SOV (Special Operations Vehicle) is motorized with a Cummins ISBe 300 6.7l, six-cylinder diesel engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission Allison SP3000. The Ajjban SOV can run at a maximum speed of 110 km/hr. It has a fuel tank capacity of 180 liters allows long-range autonomous missions to a maximum cruising range of 700 km.
