May 3, 2018, day 4 for Army Recognition online Defense and Security magazine at the Warrior Competition 2018 at the KASOTC, King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center. Second day event for the competitors at the Warrior Competition 2018 is the House of Terror.

This event represents a target of opportunity where planning time is limited and planning is based on off of a previous recon of the structure. Inside the structure, there will only be threat targets and the HVT (High Value Target). If a member of the team engage the HVT. The team receives DNF (Did Not Finish) for this event.

If the team shoots an event safety, they receive a major safety violation. Live armed enemy combatants are not be marked, if they are not engaged the team will sustain casualties until the target is eliminated. If the team fails to find or engage an enemy combatant, the team receives a DNF for the event.

Three known armed enemy combatants will be defending the passage to the HVT. The HVT must be extracted from the target building at all costs. The HVT is located somewhere on the third floor of the structure and must be transported to the extraction point by the team. There is only one entry and exit point for this structure.

For this event, all members of the team are equipped with individual gear, helmet, assault rifle and pistol, but also a protective gas mask. Once a team begins the event all team members’ protective mask must remain on until the event is complete.

First, the team moves from the event start point to the designated breach point via the route depicted in a briefing. Once all team members are on the rooftop, the team moves along a marked route to the designated breach point where a senior coordinator will receive the team.

After the team reaches the designated breach point, the senior coordinator will take control of the stack, give the command of “I have control x 3”. The breach will be executed by an explosive breach (300gr ECT, dual primed w/ 30’nonelectric shock tube).

The time for the event start on the sound of the breach. The assault team will clear the building until all enemy combatants have been eliminated and the HVT has been recovered. At no time will team’s clear areas designated as safety or out of play zones. Safety or out of play zones will be marked with caution tape in the shape of an X or by orange cones depending on the teams location within the structure. After the team recovers the HVT, they move to the designated exit point marked with four Green Chemlights.

Teams and the HVT move to the HVT extraction point located outside the designated building exit. Time for this event stops once all team members and the HVT are inside the cones.
