Armament | At IDEF 2013, the Otokar Tulpar was fitted with a remote controlled turret Mizrak-30 armed with 30mm dual feed automatic cannon and a 7.62mm caliber coaxial machine gun mounted to the right of the main armament. The turret is fully stabilized with commander’s and gunner’s sights with automatic target tracking function. The dual-axes independently stabilized gunner and commander sights are equipped with high performance cooled thermal CCD day camera. The 30mm cannon is mounted externally and has an elevation of +60º, depression of -10º and 360º turret traverse. A total of 210 rounds are ready to be fire for the 30mm cannon and 500 rounds for the 7.62mm machine gun. Four smoke grenade dischargers are mounted on each rear side of the turret. In option, the turret can be armed with Umtas anti-tank missile. UMTAS missile features "fire and forget" and "fire and update" infrared guidance with a tandem anti-armor warhead. It is capable of engaging targets at 8 kilometers. | Design and protection | The layout of the Otokar Tulpar is standard with the driver at the front with the engine compartment to its right, the turret in the middle top of the hull and the troop's compartment at the rear. The composite armour of the Tulpar provides all-around ballistic protection against firing of arms up-to 14.5mm caliber while parts with high-probability of attack provide additional protection against up to 25mm armor piercing rounds. The Tulpar uses modular armour which allows the maintenance center to quickly swap any damaged armor panels and also makes the IFV easily upgradable for added protection against higher caliber projectiles. The Mirzak turret provides standard protection Level 2 STANAG 4569 but modular armour kits can increase it up to Level 5. A total of 9 infantrymen can be seated in the troop compartment at the rear of the hull. Four individual mine resistant seats with 5 point safety belts are available along each side of the troop's compartment. The infantrymen enter and leave the vehicle through a large hydraulically operated ramp at the rear of the hull, which has an integral door in the center side. | | Inside view of the troop's compartment of Otokar Tulpar AIFV | Propulsion | The Otokar Tulpar is motorized by a Scania DI 16 turbocharged diesel engine developing 800 hp. at 2,150 rpm coupled to an 32 speeds automatic transmission SAPA SG-850. The torsion bar suspension each side consists of seven dual rubber-tyred roadwheels with the drive sprocket at the front, the idler at the rear. The upper part of the suspension is protected by armour plates. The Otokar Tulpar can run at a maximum road speed of 70 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 600 km. The Tulpar can cross a vertical step of 800 mm and a trench with a maximum width of 2,6 m. The vehicle is able to negotiate slope up to 60% and side slope to 40%. | Accessories | The Otokar Tulpar is equipped with high performance and latest generation digital fire control system. The vehicle is able to combat day and night in all weather conditions thanks to a full range of electro-optic sensors located on the MIZRAK turret. Standard equipment of the Tulpar includes air conditioning system, NBC protection system, radio equipment, GPS, automatic fire suppression system. In option, the Tulpar can be equipped with auxiliary power unit, pre-heating system and C4I equipment. | | Specifications | Back to top | Armament | One 30mm cannon, one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun | Suspension | Torsion bar, hydraulic damper, 45 ton carrying capacity | Ground clearance | 450 mm | Range | 600 km | Crew | 2 + 9 soldiers maximum | Electrical system | 24 V DC, 24 V 570 A Alternator Capacity a | Power to weight ration | 25.3 HP/Ton | | Country users | Prototype a | Weight | 32,000 kg a | Speed | 70 km/h mximum road speed | Track system | Automatic track tension system | Dimensions | Lenght: 7,230 m; Width: 3,4 m; Height: 3,18 m | Vision | Driver and commander periscopes, 360° situational awareness | Acceleration | 0 - 32 km/h in 6 sec. | | | | |
