SOFEX provides Orbital ATK with an ideal opportunity to highlight multiple products and solutions that enable special operations forces to meet current and future challenges around the globe. Fielded solutions include the AC-235 Light Gunship that can provide sustained and precise firepower in a variety of scenarios using Hellfire laser-guided missiles, 2.75-inch rockets, and a side-mounted M230 link-fed 30mm chain gun: all utilizing an integrated electro-optical targeting system with a laser designator and a synthetic aperture radar.

The highly successful AC-208B Armed Caravan provides a strike capability using Hellfire missiles and is complimented with a robust suite of sensors and communications equipment for ISR missions. Self-protection equipment is integrated on both the AC-235 and AC-208 aircraft and is available on all Orbital ATK aircraft solutions.

Orbital ATK will highlight its portfolio of aircraft protection equipment that protects aircrew during combat missions. Solutions include the ShotFinder Acoustic Hostile Fire Detection System that identifies and directionally locates small arms fire, anti-aircraft artillery and rocket-propelled grenade threats and the combat-proven AAR-47 Missile and Laser Warning System with Hostile Fire Indication electronic warfare system designed to protect helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft from surface-to-air threats.

The AAR-47 system is the lowest cost, lightest weight and lowest power consumption deployed system and is installed on fixed and rotarywing aircraft flown by the U.S. and its allies in more than 16 countries.
