The TRG-122 is not really a rocket but it is classified as a missile using a satellite navigation-aided guidance package. The TRG-122 can provide mass fire power on high pay-off targets with coverage between 16-35 km range, perfect accuracy and minimum dispersion. TRG-122 provides timely, accurate and effective fire support to maneuver forces.

The TRG-122 missile weighs 72 kg including a 18.4kg high explosive (HE) or steel ball blast fragmentation warhead. Equipped with a Roketsan-developed proximity fuze, the effective lethality radius of the warhead is given as more than or equal to 20 m for HE fragmentation and more than or equal to 30 m for steel ball.

The TRG-122 missile can be used for modern rocket launcher systems but also for the old Russian-made BM-21, 122mm MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System).

By also taking its innovative approach to the system level, ROKETSAN has developed systems that are capable of launching different types of rockets and missiles from the same platform. The T-107/122 Multi Purpose and Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) System is capable of firing 3x20 rounds of 107 mm rockets or 1x20 round of 122 mm rockets/missiles.

The Turkish Company ROKETSAN is about to finalize its Long Range Anti-Tank Missile System project UMTAS and its Medium Range Anti-Tank Missile System project OMTAS, both of which are being developed in line with the requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces. The UMTAS and OMTAS Missiles, which are being developed as a product family, enable ROKETSAN to meet the various requirements of users in today’s battlefield.

The UMTAS, developed by Roketsan primarily for use from attack helicopters is an anti-tank missile system. It is, with the advanced technology it has, highly effective against all armored threats in the field. The UMTAS missile has a range from 500 m to 8 km.

The L-UMTAS is a long range anti-tank missile system primarily developed to operate from attack helicopter platforms. L-UMTAS is equipped with state of the art technologies making it effective against all armored threats of the modern battlefield.

While the laser guided UMTAS (L-UMTAS) is already in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces following the completion of the qualification phase, the qualification phase of the UMTAS with an imaging infrared seeker has been completed for the product and production line.
