At SITDEF 2017, Naval Infantry Force of Peruvian navy presents its new RAM Mk3 light multi-mission armoured vehicle. According the SIPRI (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute), IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries) has delivered in 2016 seven RAM Mk3 to Peru.

The new RAM Mk3 showed at SIDEF 2017 is in service with the Naval Infantry Force of Peruvian navy. The RAM MK3 is 4x4 armoured vehicle designed and manufactured by Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI) Ramta division.

The hull of the RAM vehicle is made of all-welded steel armour with the bottom of the vehicle having been designed to provide maximum possible protection against mines. The hull provides a protection a ballistic protection against firing of small arms 7.62mm caliber and shell splinters.

The RAM Mk3 is the latest generation of armoured vehicle in the RAM family. The previous version, the RAM Mk1 is based on an open top architecture while the Mk2 has a fully enclosed troops compartment with an open top area at the rear of the vehicle.

The RAM Mk3 is fully protected, it can carry a total of 10 military personnel. The vehicle is 5.6 m long, 2.08 m wide and 2.12 m high. It has a combat weight of 6,500 kg and payload capacity of 1,200 kg. The RAM MK3 can run a maximum road speed of 96 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 800 km.

The RAM Mk3 of the Naval Infantry Force of Peruvian navy is armed with three 12.7mm M2 heavy machine guns mounted on swivel stations. One is mounted at the front of the vehicle and one on each side at the rear of the top hull.
