RADA Electronic Industries Ltd. announced the receipt of $3.5 million in new radar orders. The orders were from an existing customer which is a leading US military force, and are comprised of recurring follow-on orders for RADA’s MHR-based counter-UAV surveillance solutions, along with first order for its advanced eCHR radar.

South Korea approved a proposal on 4 September to shorten mandatory military service period by up to three months that will take effect from next month. The Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon, approved the defense ministry's offer to shorten the military service period over the coming years.

According the ArmyTimes website, the U.S troops deployed in Europe have received new version of the Stryker 8x8 armored vehicle fitted with remotely operated weapon station armed with Javelin anti-tank guided missile launcher. The new vehicles are fitted with the Common Remotely Operated Weapon System-Javelin (CROWS-J).

To avoid sanctions imposed by President Trump’s administration, India will have to reduce oil imports from Iran and cancel a planned $6 billion purchase of S-400 anti-aircraft missiles from Russia, ThePrint reports. However, India is expected to inform the US during a top-level meeting this week that it will go ahead with a deal to purchase the Russian S-400 air defense system despite the threat of American sanctions, Indian media reports.

Montenegro Armour Group, located at Bijelo Polje, unveiled its indigenous 4x4 armored vehicle nicknamed Masan at Masline Barracks, in Podgorica. The concept of the vehicle was unveiled in 2017. The manufacturer received advices from the army and police to improve its design and performances in view of matching their respective needs.

South Korean aerospace and defense company LIG Nex1 announced on September 3 it signed a supply contract connected to the Korean military counter-battery radar system II program. The contract signed with Defense Acquisition Program Administration is valued at 181 billion won (USD 163.1 million), which represents 10.3 percent of the company’s revenue last year. Full rate production should be met by 2020.
