Russia redeploying S-400 air defense systems for Comradeship-in-arms 2017 exercise


Air defense forces of the Southern Military District began redeploying S-400 systems and Pantsir-S missile guns to the Ashuluk range for participation in the Comradeship-in-arms-2107 exercise to be held on September 4-8, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Air defense units of the Southern Military District began redeploying from the permanent deployment bases to the Ashuluk range for participation in the joint exercise with live fire of the united air defense system of the CIS," it said.

The military loaded S-400 Triumph, Pantsir-S missile guns and various-band radars on rail cars.

Military units and detachments of the air force and air defense of the Southern Military District were alerted a day before, the ministry said.

Air defense forces of six CIS member-states - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kirghizia and Armenia will participate in the joint Comradeship-in-arms-2017 exercise. Other members of the united air defense system of the CIS will participate in the maneuvers as observers.
