Description 
The RG33 IED is a variant of the basic version of RG33 equipped with a robotic arm and iron claw mounted at the front of the vehicle. The RG33 IED is designed to to probe debris and dirt from around the questionable device and also had an extra set of eyes mounted on top to help decipher the identity of the object. The RG33L 6x6 Series provides an unmatched degree of mission flexibility. It offers more volume under armor than any other mine-protected vehicle. With its large modular interior, high-mobility chassis and extensive equipment options, the RG33 6x6 is an integrated, proven, survivable, blast-protected vehicle. It can operate in explosive hazardous environments, performing route and area clearance, explosive hazards reconnaissance and explosive ordnance disposal operations.

Armament
The basic version of the RG33 IED is fitted with armored glass turret, armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun.The RG33 IED can be fitted with a common weapon ring, mounted to the rooftop for integration of a wide variety of weapon systems, to include the Army's Objective Gunner Protection Kit.
Protection
The RG33L Series 6x6 features a state-of-the art v-shaped hull that provides superior blast protection against symmetrical, asymmetrical and unconventional explosive hazards. RG33L features additional systems to enhance survivability, such as modular add on armor kit provisions, TRAPP transparent armor that provides excellent visibility and situational awareness, and run-flat tires. RG33L is available with base protection against medium machine gun or small arms fire and mine blast protection at a level equal to or exceeding any fielded mine protected vehicle - and the platform is designed with a power train equipped to handle upgrades and enhancements.
Propulsion
The RG-33 IED uses a 6x6 chassis. The RG33 IED is motorised with a Cummins 400 I6 Diesel engine coupled to an Allison 3200 transmission.
Accessories
The RG33IED is fitted with a large articulated arm, used for ordnance disposal. The operator could use the Iron claw to probe debris and dirt from around the questionable device and also had an extra set of eyes mounted on top to help decipher the identity of the object. Working hand in hand with a television screen inside the vehicle, a video camera with a 200x zoom had a bird's eye view of everything. It had the capability to help the crew see clearly.
