The new modular MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) is based on an 8x8 KAMAZ 6560 with armored crew cab offering protection against firing of small arms and artillery shell splinters. The vehicle has a crew of three and all firing operations can be performed from inside of the crew cab, but the launch can also be operated remotely by one soldier with an electric remote control connected to the vehicle.

This MLRS is modular thanks to the possibility to use launcher pods armed with 267mm rockets and all variants of 122mm rockets which is the most popular caliber used for many rocket launcher vehicles in the world.

The Serbian-made modular MLRS can be used in fully autonomous mode and is equipped with GPS (Global Positioning System) and INS (Inertial Navigation System) that can perform a preset mission with full autonomy.

The new Serbian MLRS can be fitted with two different types of rockets pods of 267 and 122mm. In the 122mm configuration the vehicle is fitted with two blocks of four layers each with 6 tubes while in 267mm configuration, there are two rows of 6 tubes mounted at the rear of the truck chassis. When the vehicle is configured in 122mm, a rapid reloading system is mounted at the crew cabin. The launchers pods are mounted on a turntable which has a traverse of 110° and elevation from 3° to 60°.

With the 122mm rockets, the modular MLRS has a maximum firing range of 40 km and 70 km with the 267mm rockets.
