Moreover, Russia and India have agreed on the joint production of the Kamov Ka-226 (NATO reporting name: Hoodlum) helicopter, he added.

"We have made good progress in the sphere of military and technical cooperation. Last time, we discussed several issues, including intergovernmental agreements on S-400 air defense missile systems and frigates. We also signed an agreement to jointly produce the Ka-226 helicopter," Parrikar said at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

According to the Indian defense minister, Russia and India have good prospects for cooperation in the nuclear sphere.

"We have good cooperation in nuclear power generation. I am glad to note that Russia’s [nuclear power corporation] Rosatom will build a whole range of nuclear power-generating units and this has shown that our relations are developing well," he added.

According to Parrikar, Indian companies are investing a lot in the Russian oil and gas industry.

"Power supply is an important and large area of our cooperation. I am glad to note that Indian companies are making big investments in the Russian oil and gas industry," Parrikar said.
