Russian Strategic Missile Troops tested Wednesday, October 24, 2012, a prototype of a new intercontinental ballistic missile on the Kapustin Yar polygon located in the Astrakhan region (Volga), announced the press office of the Russian Ministry of Defence. | |||
The new Russian Intercontinental ballistic missile will replace the ballistic missile R-36M2 Voevoda, known in the West under the name of SS-18 Satan. | |||
"A unit of the Russian strategic ballistic troops conducted a successful test firing with a prototype of a new intercontinental ballistic missile from a mobile launcher," said the press service. | |||
