Pakistan test fire successfully Short-Range Surface-to-Surface missile Hatf IX named NASR.
Pakistan on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, conducted a successful test fire of Short Range Surface to Surface Missile Hatf IX (NASR). The test fire was conducted with successive launches of 4 x missiles from a MLRS Multiple Launch Rocket System.

The test was witnessed by the Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (Retd) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Chairman NESCOM, Mr Muhammad Irfan Burney, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani, senior officers from the strategic forces and scientists and engineers of strategic organisations.

The Hatf IX, named Nasr is a solid fuelled battlefield range ballistic missile system developed by Pakistan. The Hatf-IX has a range of 60 kilometers and an inflight maneuver capability which can carry nuclear warheads of appropriate yield, with high accuracy.

The Pakistani Military claims Hatf IX is specially designed to defeat all known anti-tactical missile defence systems. The Hatf-IX has a quick response system, which can fire a four missile salvo to ensure deterrence against threats in view of evolving scenarios.
