Also on Tuesday evening, another Gaza launched-missile hit a residential building in Rishon Lezion, a large city located 20 km away from Tel Aviv. Four people were lightly injured and damage was caused to the building, emergency services officials confirmed to Xinhua.

A rocket was launched towards Rishon Lezion on Tuesday and reportedly landed in an open territory south of the city. The Iron Dome battery failed to intercept the rocket.

These attacks, along with nearly another 100 rockets, launched from the Gaza Strip Tuesday towards Israeli territory, occurring amid recent reports and mounting diplomatic pressure to achieve a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip.

The "Operation Pillar of Defense" is about to end its seventh day, with more than 100 Palestinians and five Israelis killed. More than 600 Palestinians have been injured, as continuous raids of the Israeli Air Force struck more than 1,350 targets in the Gaza Strip, including chief militants, missile arsenals and the smuggling tunnels.
