Asia-Pacific nation invests $114M in advanced Long-Range patrol aircraft from Elbit Systems.
According to a PR published by Elbit Systems on July 10, 2023, the prominent Israeli defense company, has secured a contract, worth an estimated $114 million, from an unspecified country in the Asia-Pacific region. The deal involves the provision of two advanced Long-Range Patrol Aircraft (LRPA) over a five-year period.

These aircraft will be built upon the new ATR 72-600 model, and Elbit Systems will incorporate a comprehensive suite of mission features into each one, including a mission management system, electro-optics, radar, SIGINT, and communication equipment among others.
About the ATR 72-600
The Long Range patrol aircraft measures approximately 27.2 meters in length, with a wingspan of about 27.1 meters. The airliner stands at a height of 7.7 meters.
The ATR 72-600 has a maximum takeoff weight of around 23,000 kilograms and can accommodate up to 78 passengers in a single-class configuration. The cabin width is approximately 2.57 meters, offering a comfortable space for passengers. The maximum range of the aircraft is roughly 1,500 kilometers.
Propelled by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127M engines, each generating 2,750 horsepower, the ATR 72-600 can cruise at a speed of about 510 kilometers per hour (around 275 knots). The service ceiling is approximately 7,620 meters (25,000 feet).
A key highlight of the ATR 72-600 is its cockpit, which features the latest avionics suite based on Thales's Avionics 2020. This includes five wide LCD screens that provide pilots with clear flight information.
