4x4 Tank destroyer Eagle V with Samson Mini Spike turret MSPO 2017
The Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ ), a holding company established by the Polish government to unite Polish, state owned defense industry companies, presents a new 4x4 anti-tank combat vehicle based on the Eagle 5, a 4x4 armoured vehicle manufactured by the Company MOWAG, who is now a business unit of General Dynamics European Land Systems.
The new 4x4 Tank Destroyer is based on a standard version of the Eagle V, 4x4 armoured vehicle fitted with an Israeli Rafael Samson Mini RWS (Remote Weapon Station). The turret is armed with one 12.7mm heavy machine gun and two launchers for anti-tank guided missile Rafael Spike.
The EAGLE V sets the standard for protected wheeled vehicles in the weight class of up to 10 t. The cabin is equipped with a double V-shaped floor, which reduces the kinetic energy transfer of the explosion. The vehicle provides high payload, large internal capacity and flexible cargo space. Thanks to the unique De-Dion suspension system and high-mobility anti-slope stabilizers, the Eagle provides the crew a high level of survivability.
The Samson Mini RWS is a compact turret system. The RWS highly accurate target engagement and auto-tracking capabilities, combined with accurate stabilization mechanism, provide superior performance in adverse conditions. Samson Mini's open architecture allows to configure additional sensors and tactical C4I for effective battlefield response.
The Spike LR is a 4th generation lightweight, Fire & Forget Plus multi-purpose missile system with a range of up to 4 km. In addition to the basic Fire & Forget mode of operation, a fiber optic data communication link provides the gunner with the unique ability to attack hidden targets, update or switch to more valuable target after launch, achieve pinpoint precision, avoid friendly fire, perform surveillance, damage assessment and obtain real-time intelligence.
