During MSPO 2014, Rafael is showcasing its last version of the combat proven Toplite Electro-Optical System (EOS), which is is the most advanced version of the Toplite family of ISR and targeting systems for airborne, maritime, ground, homeland security, and defence applications.
Toplite EOS family can serve for Ground, Airborne and Maritime applications

Toplite is an electro-optical surveillance, targeting and weapon control system based upon a 60 kg, 40 cm diameter stabilized sensor head with four-axis gimbals and a single-line replaceable unit. In the baseline configuration the prime sensors are a thermal imager, a TV camera, laser range-finder, laser marker and laser designator (optional). The thermal imager is a third-generation unit with a focal plane array operating in the 3 to 5m wave band while the TV camera is a CCD device providing color images with x27 zoom. The laser range-finder in Toplite III/EXT is an eye-safe unit operating in the 1.54m optical band and a laser designator is another option, together with a laser spot detector.

The system features manual or auto-tracking of targets, target range measurement and precise gun direction. The system can be used with Ethernet, MIL STD 1553 or RS-422 standard electronic interfaces and with RS-170 and CCIR video standard ones.

The use of Toplite has been expanded for service with both the Typhoon and Mini-Typhoon gun systems of 40, 57 and 76 mm caliber, which consists of an electro-optical director and an operator console.

Toplite also serves as a director and a radar system on Rafael's Protector USV, providing day/night detection, identification and tracking of targets.

Toplite Multi-High Definition (MHD) Electro-Optical System (EOS) is the most advanced version of the Toplite family of ISR and targeting systems for airborne, maritime, ground, homeland security, and defence applications.

It allows unique operational capabilities supplemented by additional state-of the-art advanced image processing algorithms and applications.
.
The combined capabilities of the Toplite system and its advanced image processing capabilities meet today's most advanced Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting & Reconnaissance (ISTAR) operational requirements.

The Toplite MHD EOP is a sealed and single multi-sensor, multispectral (VIS, NIR, MWIR, SWIR, Laser units), multipurpose, highly stabilized turret which incorporates day/night/laser, up to seven sensors for detection, recognition, identification, classification, and targeting of targets/objects on land, at sea, and in the air.

The Toplite family of products is derived from the Litening targeting and navigation pod. It therefore benefits from all the developments implemented in the world-leading, state-of-the art Litening system.

The Toplite MHD EOS offers flexible and smart design to cope with the quickly evolving market of computerized systems and algorithms, while maintaining the "free maintenance concept design" on the operational level, hence reducing the operational overload of the system.

The Toplite EOS design maintains the EOP sensors and LOS capabilities while implementing the image processing and algorithms by COTS-based units via the main computing board and Toplite controller sub systems. This approach offers the EOS to easily cope with the developments in the market, with minimum effort of upgrade process in the future.
