When coupled with a command and control unit (e.g UMBRELLA) the Hydra constitutes an air defense battery fire unit. the theoritical rate of fire 550 rounds per minute.
The Biala system is fully autonomous and fire at the same targets as the Hydra but with 4, 23mm canons and 4 Grom missile launchers. It can as well fire on lightly armoured ground and naval targets. The system has been enhanced and has better range, passive sensors and better tracking range, 7-8 km, for a detection radius of 10km. The Biala is a modernization of the Szylka System and Around 70 ZSU-23-4MP self-propelled anti-aircraft guns are to be produced for the Polish army.
