To show the possibilities of integration of the turret, the company HSW presents at MSPO 2013 a chassis of tracked armored infantry fighting vehicle Marder fitted with the 120mm mortar turret.

The HSW 120 mm mortar turret can be also mounted on wheeled and tracked chassis as well as onto vessels (turret’s stabilized naval version).

The Polish Company HSW has proposed its 120mm mortar turret on the Rosomak 8x8 armoured vehicle, which is now the standard infantry fighting vehicle of the Polish Armed Forces. This vehicle is currently undergoing testing and evaluation by the procurement agency of the Polish army to replace the old Russian-made 122mm tracked howitzer 2S1 and the wheeled self-propelled howitzer DANA.

The HSW 120mm mortar turret is equipped with a ballistic computer, an inertial navigation system TALIN 5000 (GPS signal, odometer), integrated communication digital radio station RRC 9311 AP with FONET communication management system, battlefield management system with tactical situation on a digital map for the commander and automatic co-operation with external command and fire control systems of C4I class, ballistic computer, laser warning OBRA and WB Electronics computerized fire-control system.

Main armament of the turret is a 120mm mm breech loaded mortar system including an automatic loading system. The 120 mm mortar, with a barrel length of 3,000 mm has an elevation from -3 to +80º with turret traverse of 360°. The rotation and lift mechanisms is electrically controlled but can be controlled manually in case of emergency or failure. In direct fire the 120mm mortar has a minimum firing range of 500m and a maximum range of 8,000 to 12,000 m (with extended range ammunition) when being used in the indirect fire role.
