The scale model of the Aravis vehicle that is presented on the Nexter stand at Milipol Qatar is fitted with two ladders mounted on the roof to enable rapid assault, and entry, of all entry points on civilian aircraft, ships (along side), up to 3rd storey windows, coaches, trains etc.

The use of two scales enables the entrance of an assault team at two different levels.

Terrorist threats today have shown the use of heavy weapons and assault rifle that represents a new threat for police and security forces. With its new Aravis Assault Vehicle, Nexter meets the new requirements of the police and security units with a vehicle which provides a ballistic protection Level 4 STANAG 4569 (small arms firing 14.5x114AP / B32 at 200 meters with 911 m/s).

Additionally, the Aravis Assault Vehicle is able to withstand the blast of an improvised explosive device, equivalent to 50 kg of TNT, at five metres.

The standard vehicle Aravis is currently deployed in Afghanistan by combat engineers of French Army to scout roads for roadside bombs and mines.

Saudi Arabia has also bought a hundred Aravis vehicles, with an option to quickly get another hundred.

The Aravis can carry up to eight to nine people. The Aravis is considered superior, in terms of protection, to most other MRAPs. The vehicle is based on the commercial Unimog U5000 heavy truck. Most MRAPs are basically heavily armored trucks that are modified to survive nearby explosions.
