Milipol 2015: Centigon introduces the new Toyota LC200 FLAMS rapid intervention vehicle
Centigon, part of Carat Security Group, the world's largest commercial armored vehicle provider, is introducing for the first time its new Toyota LC200 Fast Light Assault Modular System (FLAMS) at Milipol 2015. Based on a Toyota LandCruiser LC 200 chassis, this new vehicle is powered by a 5.7 l engine, allowing to reach speed of 140-150 km/h on road, in a maximum range of about 400 km.

The assault system is designed by the UK company FDS to provide a multi-role capability vehicle that enables rapid access to various heights up to 9m above ground level. Specifically designed for urban and airborne intervention, the system is lightweight and easy to operate. The vehicle is intended to be fitted with a detachable assault structure composer of various accessories for the crossing of obstacles and or facilitating access to heights on ordinary or special objectives. This removable assault system is composed of a 4m-length ramp, which can be extended to 9 meters with an additional ladder. With this extension, special forces operators may access 747 or same type aircraft.

The armored monocoque hull is made of high-hardness armor steel providing strong level of protection for occupants and critical components from ballistic and blast threats like DM51 grenades. The PU coating acts as a fire retardant and provides further blast protection as well as superior resistance to corrosion and abrasion.

Crew and operators are protected by a B6- level (VPAM Klasse 7) armor and multi-layered ballistic glass. The LC200 FLAMS can accommodate up to 8 operators.

The vehicle can be optionally fitted with protected fuel tank, runflat system, siren, intercom system, strobe lights, search lamp, as well as 360° video control system.

Three vehicles have been ordered by the Belgian Special Police forces (Escadron Spécial d’Intervention), whith the first delivery intended for early 2016 for field trials.
