Royal Thai Air Force to test light armored vehicles from Chaiseri and Panus


On May 14, 2020, the Department of Transport, Royal Thai Air Force, published a document announcing the medium price for the purchase of two Light Armored Vehicles for the amount of 25,000 baht (USD 780,518.25) to Thailand Panus Assembly Co Ltd. and Chaiseri Metal and Rubber Co. Ltd.

It is understood that the two Light Armored Vehicles will be provided for evaluation purposes by the Special Operations and Security Force Command which currently operates 18 4x4 vehicles of two types vehicles: the Cadillac Gage V-150 Commando (dating back to the Vietnam war era) and the Rheinmetall Condor.

Although there is still no detail about the characteristics of the new light armored vehicles to buy, the Thai Air Force wants to procure two vehicles respecting the set price from the Thai companies Chaiseri and Panus. One of them will win the market.

The vehicle from Chaiseri is the” First Win” already operated by the Police Force and Thai security agencies (while a new version of the First Win is available after having been unveiled at Defense and Security Thailand 2019), and exported abroad. The vehicle from Panus is the “AMV-420P Mosquito” that was unveiled at Defense and Security Thailand 2019.
