Harris Corporation radios for US Special Operations Command


Harris Corporation was awarded a $21,000,000 maximum, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, single award contract for the sustainment of handheld (PRC-152(v)5/6 and PRC-152A(v)1/2) and manpack (PRC-117G(v)3) radios and associated spare parts, accessories, repairs, training, spares management and engineering services in support of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

The work will be performed at Harris Corp. and USSOCOM mission units with an expected completion date of May 2023. Fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $13,700 are being obligated at time of award. USSOCOM, Tampa, Florida, is the contracting activity (H92401-18-D-0002).

The Harris Falcon III AN/PRC-152A provides simultaneous voice, video and high-speed data in a highly portable form factor. Employing the Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) and Harris Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform (ANW2®C) this handheld delivers ad-hoc, self-healing and adaptive networking capabilities to dismounted soldiers on the move.

The Wideband Networking Radio features a complete set of narrowband line-of-sight and UHF SATCOM capabilities for interoperability with wideband, legacy and public safety systems. It has an SCA compliant architecture that accommodates changing mission needs and emerging waveforms with simple software upgrades. Plus, it provides NSA certified voice and data security up to Top Secret with its Harris Sierra™ II encryption module.
