DRS and Roboteam to collaborate on the US Army’s CRS-I programme
DRS Technologies, a Leonardo-Finmeccanica company, and Roboteam Ltd have agreed to collaborate on the US Army’s Common Robotic System – Individual programme. The companies have signed an agreement that will lead to the development of a solution tailored to the Army’s requirements.
     
DARPA contracted DRS to enhance cooled IR sensor’s performance
US Army's CRS-I programme will bring into service lower-level robotic systems for conducting a wide range of tactical operations.
     

The CRS-I programme aims at providing the dismounted soldiers with a capability to conduct lower-level reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition; to remotely perform chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear detection, to remotely clear danger areas and conduct explosive obstacle counter measure operations; And conduct EOD operations from a stand-off distance.

The collaboration of the two companies will combine Roboteam’s technologies and expertise in military robotics, and DRS’ market presence, customer awareness, and production and engineering capabilities.
