Ukrainian army continues to fight Pro-Russian separatists in the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk
 
The Ukrainian army continue to control the situation around Slovyansk. The town is surrounded by block posts. There are still captured several buildings: particularly, municipal council, municipal directions of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, city court, ‘Ukrtelecom’ office and central post office. There are still 27 barricades and block posts of separatists in the town.

NATO to launch large-scale military exercise code-named Steadfast Javelin 1 in Estonia
 
NATO has launched a large-scale exercise in Estonia, to test the allied forces’ capability and maintain combat effectiveness. The exercise is named the "Steadfast Javelin 1". It started on Friday, May 16, 2014 and will run until May the 23rd.

Foreign sale from United States to deliver of 3,335 M1152 HMMWV Humvee to Mexico
 
The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Mexico for M1152 High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of $556 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on May 16, 2014.

Dartz armoured vehicles manufacturer to unveil armoured version of Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6
 
Latvian-tuner Dartz has unveiled an armored version of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. Besides the added armored protection, the Latvian tuner also increased output of the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 to no less than 1,019 PS (749 kW) and more than 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.

Turkish state fund on May 8 approved the 751 million lira ($360 million) sale of armored vehicle maker BMC, seized from troubled conglomerate Çukurova Holding a year ago, to a businessman close to the government. The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) said it would approve the sale of BMC to Es Mali Yatirim & Danismanlik, a company owned by Ethem Sancak, who also owns the pro-government Aksam newspaper.
