Azerbaijan will host its first International Defence Exhibition ADEX in September 2014.
Speaking at a government meeting presided by the Azerbaijan’s head, Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov claimed that for the first time in the history of the republic in September 2014 Baku will host an international defense industry exhibition - ADEX-2014.

"At present, along with the organizational issues in this regard, we are negotiating with the leading companies of the world," Jamalov said.

Over its history, the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan has participated in 10 international exhibitions of the defense industry and arms. In 2009, at the Istanbul exhibition the Ministry presented 27 kinds of products, in November 2012 at an exhibition in Indonesia demonstrated products of 125 titles, and at IDEF-2013 exhibition to be held in May this year in Istanbul will feature items of 130 names.

"There it will be showcased for the first time 7.62?54-mm machine gun Gürz?, 7.62x51-mm sniper rifle Yalquzaq, 7.62x54-mm assault gun type HP-7.62, patrol car Gürz?, drones Aerostar and Orbiter and other products," Jamalov said.

In April or May the Ministry plans to open new production facilities: the center for production of ammunition of different calibers, the center for munitions disposal, the control & test center for small-caliber ammunition, the center for stuffing mines of various types of aircraft and missiles, a center for production of incendiary capsules.

"The first quarter of 2013 was also successful for the Ministry of Defense Industry. Its enterprises produced output for totally AZN 37.3 million that is 2.9 times more than for the 2012 same term. The share of defense products in the manufactured products made up 84.2%. In 2013, the Ministry of Defence and other security agencies gave the order for production of defense products for more than AZN 450 million. In the first quarter it was already signed contracts worth AZN 95.7 million. Serious measures are taken to implement the agreements in full volume. As a result of task-oriented measures, the volume of output for the reported quarter compared to the 2012 same period increased by 2.6 times, and the range by 3.8 times," Jamalov said.
