The P20 is a pintle mount equipped with a 20mm gun that allows to arm light vehicles of the 4x4 type. It is ideally suited for ground-to-ground and ground-to-air close fire support, urban combat, protection, self-defense or intimidation missions.

This assembly uses the 20M621 gas-operated cannon designed by the Nexter teams in Bourges. The weapon is renowned for its ease of use and maintenance, firing the 20x102 ammunition to NATO or M50 standards.

The P20 is a manual solution that benefits from the firepower and extension of the 20mm caliber, with explosive or armor-piercing ammunition available. This is why the BAAINBw chose the P20 in a first experiment in Germany.

Two further consultations are expected in the near future: a call for tenders for 20x102 ammunition and a second contract by 2021-2022 for additional P20 guns for the German Special Forces. This contract is a major first for Nexter, since it is the first equipment contract for the Bundeswehr (German army) signed by the group. In this campaign, Nexter has benefited from the invaluable assistance of Krauss-Maffei-Wegmann (KMW), its partner in KNDS, which was able to accompany the Nexter teams in charge of the offer throughout the public consultation and negotiations.
