General Dynamics Awarded $23 Million contract for Buffalo Vehicle Upgrades
The US Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $22.7 million (€ 20 million) contract for updates and revisions to all logistic requirements and data in support of the Buffalo A2 M1272 vehicle. This model has advanced features that give it further flexibility and capability.

The Buffalo A2 is a heavily armored truck specifically designed to protect its occupants from mines and improvised explosive devices. The Buffalo is a recognized leader in the global mine-protected route-clearance vehicle class, with approximately 238 Buffalo A2 vehicles delivered to U.S. units throughout the world.

Work will be performed by existing employees in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with an estimated completion date of March 2018.

The Buffalo Mine Protection Clearance Vehicle (MPCV) offers the Warfighter the unique capability of remote interrogation of mines, IEDs or suspected threats from within the protected confines of a v-shaped, monocoque, steel hull. It offers unmatched survivability, proven mission effectiveness, and the ability to traverse aggressive off-road terrain. The Buffalo MPCV features seating for 6 personnel, external video camera systems, easy access ingress/egress points, engine & crew AFES, internal & external add-on armor options, interrogation arm enhancements (such as air spade) and the ability to be easily repaired after an IED or blast event.
