The security threats the Republic of Singapore is facing is constantly evolving - which is why the Singapore Armed Forces must constantly "remake itself" to ensure it is able to nullify the evolving threats the Republic could face, said Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen.

"The SAF will further leverage new technologies to respond to security challenges both externally and internally. New units for cyber defence are being raised. Better capabilities using infocomm technology, robotics and artificial intelligence are in the pipe-line for testing and integration into existing systems." added Dr Ng Eng Hen.

According a pictures published by the defense-studies blog, the vehicle could be a modified version of the vehicle Higuard designed and manufactured by Renault Trucks Defense. The Higuard is a vehicle in the MRAP category which is able to perform missions as troops carrier in asymmetric combat areas.

In 2011, the Qatari Internal Security Forces (ISF) have ordered 22 HIGUARD (MRAP). It was the first export customer for this vehicle.
