Ukrspecexport, the Ukrainian state-controlled arms exporter, and the Royal Thai Army on September 1, 2011 concluded a contract to deliver 49 Oplot main combat tanks for the Royal Thai Armed Forces.

In January 2012, Ukrspecexport announced the sale of 49 main battle tanks to Thailand for a total amount of 200$ million. The execution of the contract will begin in 2012 and will be completed in 2014.

The demonstration of T-84 Oplot took place on the firing range and training area of the 1st Armoured Brigade of the Ukrainian army, stationed in Chernihiv.

The crew carried out a dynamic demonstration to show the features and operational capabilities of the main battle tank T-84 Oplot with live firing in static and on the move.

After the demonstration, Chief of Staff of the Thai army said," I am sure that Ukraine is a global leader in the design of that type of vehicle and will allow Thai army to have a powerful and modern main battle tank"
