The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) are
under a unifield command based in Yarze. The organisation
structure of the LAF Command includes the Commander-in-Chief,
the Chief of General Staff, 4 Deputy Chiefs of Staff.
Under LAF Command there are the three services, Army,
Navy, and Air Forces, and five regional commands.
The total active manpower for the Lebanese Armed Forces
is around 40,000 personnel. The Lebanese army is fully
professional. There is also a Para-military forces
with 24,000 personnel from the Internal Security Force.
The Land Forces of the Lebanese Army is around 38,000
soldiers with the structure:
- 11 mechanised infantry brigades, 2 independent armoured
regiments, 1 Commando regiment, 5 Special Forces regiments,
1 airmobile regiment, 1 marine infantry regiment,
2 artillery regiments, 1 logistic brigade, 1 medical
brigade, 1 support brigade
- 1 Republican Guard Brigade with 2 infantry battalions,
1 support battalion, and 1 logistic battalion
